Today, for the first time in three years, a very uncoordinated person is willingly throwing herself down a very large snowy mountain in front of 30 seniors who will be skiing circles around her.
Lots of pictures to come tomorrow if I can avoid mangling my arms in a snow maker.

Excellent-and very wise; I mean skiing with seniors-you can be pretty sure someone will be able to lend you a zimmer frame.
Smart, smart, *smart* planning. I’m impressed!
Good Luck!
we went a couple weekends ago for the first time in 2 years. it was nice but boy was i sore…even my fingers from gripping my poles for dear life.
I’m still trying to wash the smell of fear out of the ski sweater (ski sweater, that’s how long ago it was) I wore the last time I tried skiing.
Sitting in the lodge with a hot toddy is my favorite part of that whole exercise.
All that said, good luck and hope you have a a great time. You’re a better woman than I.
I’ve never been. The ski-fields here aren’t fantastic, and I don’t see the point of spending vast sums of money to travel long distances just so I can slide around on cold, wet stuff on sticks. I figure it’s one of those things like swimming, that you really need to learn before you’re old enough to develop fear about it. But swimming is a bit more useful.
MC, are you kidding me. There wasn’t a senior to be found on the bunny hills. Hell, there weren’t any 5 year olds either. If hurt I probably would have been found by a hungry pack of wolves some time around midnight.
HB, I know that pain!!
Sketched, nah, i just am afraid of enough things already, you know?
Stella, I can’t argue with the useful, but it’s just one of those “sport-things.” The one i can’t seem to get into is basketball… see, to me, THAT’S entirely pointless, you might as well just stand at the line and just try to pitch in 3-pointers or play a game of HORSE.
